Executive Overview
Booking Types in EventKey serve as the core classification framework for categorizing, managing, and automating event records across your venue. By establishing clear business categories—such as corporate meetings, banquets, social gatherings, or hybrid events—venues automatically enforce tailored operational workflows, accurate resource allocation, and specific pricing models.

Platform Guidance & Operational Details
Access EventKey Event Administration
Navigate to the Booking Types screen under Event Setup.
Displays a master list of all current booking types configured for your venue.
Initiate Setup
Click + Add New in the top-right header.
Opens the primary configuration modal.
Define Parameters
Enter a Name (e.g., "Corporate Meeting") and a unique Code (e.g., "CONF").
Names should be user-friendly, while codes should follow standardized 3–4 letter uppercase conventions for reporting accuracy.
Save & Deploy
Click Save to activate Booking Type.
Returns you to the master list with the new Booking Type immediately active for selections.

UI Visibility & System Integration
Once created, Booking Types surface automatically across core platform modules:
Event Creation Wizard: Appears within the initial booking flow under Basic Data > Other Information > Booking Type.
Event Record Overview: Prominently featured in the More Information card of active event files and reservations.

Lifecycle Management
Deactivating an Active Booking Type
Select the target item from the Booking Types list.
Switch the Active header toggle to OFF.
Outcome: The item is hidden from active booking dropdowns without impacting historical reporting data.

Inactive Toggle Example
Reactivating an Inactive Booking Type
Set the listing filter to display Inactive or All records.
Active types feature a green indicator bar; Inactive types feature a grey indicator bar.
Select the desired inactive item to open its profile.
Toggle the Inactive switch back to ON.
Outcome: The record is restored to the active list and available for immediate selection on new events.
