  1. Select a Parent Rate Plan from the list.

  2. Select the type of adjustment to be made: Amount to base the derived rate on a specific dollar amount change, Percentage to base it on a percentage change.

Note: in earlier versions of HK software this popup prompted for entry of the "percent of rate": when offering 10% discount a 90% derived rate (or โ€œpercent of rateโ€) would be entered, indicating that the derived rate is 90% of the selected parent rate. Now a derived rate is calculated based on entry of the adjustment type and discount to be applied to the parent rate.

When activating a 10% discount, the rate is entered as derived with Percentage selected, Increase selected (indicating an increase in the discount) and 10% entered as the change to be applied.

When activating a $50 increase, the rate is entered as derived with Amount selected, Decrease selected (indicating a decrease in the discount) and $50 entered as the change to be applied.

  1. Toggle the Increase / Decrease field to indicate whether the adjustment should be made as an addition to or subtraction, as described in the note above.

  2. Enter the amount associated with step 2 above. The field updates to accept a dollar amount or percentage according to the step 2 selection.
