How to Split a Check, Split an Order and Split a Bill

The SPLIT Check/Order functionality allows servers/cashiers to divide an order into multiple checks or payments or custom rules (equal/unequal). This ensures flexibility when guests want to pay separately, share the bill, or split based on seats.

Split by Item

  • User can select specific items and move them to a new check.

Split by Payment

  • User can split the bill across multiple payment methods (e.g., part card, part cash, part house account).

  • Receipts are printed in the same sequence in which payments are taken.

Split by Seat

  • Items can be assigned to specific seats when taking the order.

  • During split, the system automatically separates checks based on seat assignments.

  • Benefits:

    • Faster splitting for large parties.

    • Reduces manual selection effort.

    • Ensures accuracy when guests order individually.


  • Example:

    • Seat 1 ā†’ Salad + Water

    • Seat 2 ā†’ Pasta + Wine

    • System generates two separate checks automatically.


Steps

  • Add items to the cart.

  • Tap Send to fire the order to KOT.

  • Once the order is fired, the Split Bill button becomes available.

Basic Split (by selecting items)

  • Tap on Split Bill.

  • All items from the cart will appear under the General Bill.

  • Select required items by tapping the checkbox before each item.

  • Tap Add Split ā†’ items will move into a new bill.

Manual Split

  • Tap on Manual Split (top-right corner).

  • Enter the number of splits required (ex: 3 split).

  • Select the items to distribute among bills and tap on bill to move to.

Split Options in Manual Split

When a user selects items from the split and then taps on Manual Split, additional options appear to split the bill either equally or unequally. After entering the number of splits (e.g., 3), the system will divide the bill accordingly.

Split Equally

  • Items are divided evenly across the selected number of bills.

  • Example:

    • 3 items ordered ā†’ with 3 splits ā†’ each bill will get same item splitter.

Split Unequally

Provides two further options:

  • By Amount ā†’ User specifies the exact amount for each bill.

  • By Percentage ā†’ User specifies the percentage of the total to assign to each bill.

Once defined, tap Done to complete the split.

Example : 

  1. A table orders 3 Pizzas ($30 each) and 2 Drinks ($10 each) ā†’ total $110.

  2. Tap Split Bill ā†’ Manual Split ā†’ enter 3 splits.

  3. Choose Split Unequally ā†’ By Amount:

    • Bill 1: $50

    • Bill 2: $40

    • Bill 3: $20

  4. The system divides the items accordingly and generates 3 separate bills.

Auto Split by Seat

If you need to split the bill seat-wise, tap on the Auto Split button and select the number of seats you want to split into.

You can either:

  • Split the entire table evenly by selecting All Seats, or

  • Choose specific seats to split the bill accordingly.


Example:

  1. Add items to the cart and assign them to seats (e.g., Seat 1, Seat 2, Seat 3).

  2. Tap on Auto Split.

  3. Enter the number of seats to split into (e.g., 3).

  4. Select All Seats to divide the bill evenly across all seats, OR choose Seat 1, Seat 2, Seat 3 individually to split items seat-wise.

  5. The system will automatically generate separate bills based on the selected seats.

Merge Split Bills

After splitting, if the user wants to combine all items back into a single bill (i.e., merge the order), they can use the Merge All option.
